Oman’s Oldest Library to Host Rembrandt’s Original Paintings

After keeping a low profile throughout its more than 100 years of existence, Oman’s oldest library is suddenly in the limelight. Al Salmi Library, located in Bidiya, a small village in the eastern Sharqiya region, is shirking its publicity-shy image with an exhibition of 100 original paintings of Rembrandt in Muscat.

The one-month show, from August 19, will be the first time ever that the original works of the internationally-renowned Dutch artist would go on public display in the Middle East.
