How do I know when a piece of fine art is a good investment?

An art expert will be able to tell you if the price being asked for a piece of artwork will be a good investment. The expert should have credentials that prove they are qualified to give you accurate information about your piece. The professional is also a good person to consult when you find an art piece at a yard sale or an estate sale. As an expert, they will probably have a history degree and therefore they will be able to give you the background of the piece.

You can find art professionals at antique shops or the phone book. Good art professionals will provide you with a certified appraisal on top of letting you know that you’re making a good choice. This will come in handy if you’re planning to make it a charitable contribution on your taxes.
